Review
"These books would be useful to students doing serious research on specific novels of major authors, particularly as a starting point in thinking about interpretations and finding critical sources." -The Book Report --This text refers to the Library Binding edition.

This series, Bloom’s Major Short Story Writers, is edited by Harold Bloom, Sterling Professor of the Humanities, Yale University; Henry W. and Albert A. Berg Professor of English, New York University Graduate School; preeminent literary critic of our time. 5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended reading for students of literary history, October 7, 2008
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
The great artists of the world commonly go unnoticed during their lifetimes. "Herman Melville" looks at the work of the great author, much ignored during his time. Moby Dick being one of the great American novels was not a best seller when it was first available, despite its place in modern school curriculums. With a wide examination of all of his work the Bloom Modern Critical Views book on "Herman Melville" is highly recommended reading for students of literary history.
