Editorial Reviews

Review
"Begun in the late eighteenth century, New York's extensive armory building program had a significant impact on the development of communities across the state ... Today, many of the historic armories are underused or have become obsolete. Safeguarding this remarkable collection presents both challenges and exciting possibilities." -- Bernadette Castro, Commissioner, New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservatio

Product Description

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book on new york state armories, January 18, 2007
As an architectural historian, Nancy Todd explains the reasoning and architecture beyond New York state's fantastic armory buildings. As a speaker she is even more interesting. Anyone interested in public works buildings and turn of the century architecture will love this book. Great pictures, interesting explanations and she knows her stuff. My personal favorite is the Amsterdam Armory.
