Having learned home repair through personal trial and error, DeJulio feels that anyone who can operate a hand mixer in the kitchen can learn to be equally at ease using a power drill. With her trademark humor, DeJulio describes such basics as fixing a leaky faucet, installing a ceiling fan, hanging wallpaper, fixing broken screens and windows, replacing a shower head, and installing a basic security system, along with dozens of other practical home projects for the do-it-yourselfer at any skill level. Also included are the five things DeJulio feels every woman should know how to fix, ideas for involving children in household projects (and ways to keep them creatively occupied while you are trying to get some handy work done), safety tips, and advice on assembling a toolbox. This is a great confidence builder for the beginner and a helpful reminder for the more experienced handy person.
