4.0 out of 5 stars Very thorough and very detail, September 1, 2005
This book is perfect for serious goldfish hobyist or those who wants to go into goldfish breeding business. It's very detail and complete. It may be too advance for beginners.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very technical genetic overview - somewhat lacking in details, June 22, 2006
Absolutely highest quality photo illustrations: super high glossy prints. The chapters dealing with breeding has highly technical language regarding Mendelian genetic theory - might be a little advanced for anyone without a college degree in biology.
A little lacking in details regarding the how-tos: How to set up a breeding environment, for example. I would have preferred more in-depth info than what was given.
Nevertheless, this book is worth getting, just be prepared to supplement it with other books.
