Over the past three years, I have accumulated a small library of books on menopause, looking for answers to my many questions. This is the best of my collection. It's well researched, well written, and well indexed. Technical information is presented very clearly. The notes contain full bibliographical information for those who want to read the journals. All approaches to menopause - life style, dietary, herbal, botanical, HRT - are considered in detail, but no particular program is pushed. The authors' respect for their readers is evident throughout the book. It's a pleasure to recommend it to anyone needing information on this phase of life.

The Mayo's book The Menopause Manager is an insightful and thorough guide for women going through menopause and those who are preparing for this important life transition. As the founder and creator of HotFlash! the perimenopause/menopause web site, I interviewed both Mary Ann and Joseph Mayo. Their passion and drive to help women empower themselves with information and common sense is inspirational and pervasive. Their book offers new insights into how planning for menopause based on current health conditions, family health history, and the extent of menopausal sympotms can be both simple and effective.
