5.0 out of 5 stars Love Isn't Enough, April 14, 2002
By Danielle Streich (Montrose, Colorado) - See all my reviews
We can love our children, we can raise them the best way we know how but have we ever thought of the impact of giving them self-esteem? I got this book hoping for some insight on parenting my 2 small children and I thought it was excellent. The entire time, though, I recalled my own childhood and how although my parents did love me, I never had self-esteem and my choices later in life shout out this fact. My parents did the best they could but I intend on taking the advice in this book and giving my children the biggest gift of all~ the ability to love themselves despite their weaknesses and flaws! The life issues and challenges they face will be easier to tackle if they believe in themselves!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great reference for parenting and teaching., August 27, 2008
A good book that can be read over and over again. It gives insight on how a person develops. It explains the importance of social skills, family involvement, and community awareness on the growth of a child into adulthood and as a member of society.
