Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review
Collage it, print it, stitch it, stamp it, stencil it, glue it, fuse it--no longer need we be content with ordinary store-bought cards or even simple homemade ones. With relatively easy techniques and clear instructions and pictures, Glorious Greetings demonstrates more than 100 fun, colorful, and imaginative ways to design and create customized greeting cards for all occasions, using paper, paint, fabric, trimmings, cardboard, and a wide variety of found objects. Many of the cards are actually gifts in themselves (such as the wedding presentation that incorporates an audiocassette filled with good wishes from the family, or the potpourri keepsake complete with dried lavender and rose petals); all are worthy of being kept in a memento album or even framed.

Product Description
Every member of the family will enjoy making these special, customized greeting cards from readily available materials which can be found in all crafts and art supply stores. Techniques include stenciling, stamping, cutting, and embellishing, and easy-to-follow directions are given for making pop-up cards, adding ribbon and fabric inserts, and making fabric collages. Full color.

Unlike many other greeting card books, Ms. Twelvetrees' designs cover many diverse styles and techniques. Over 110 different cards are featured, with full color photographs and detailed instructions for each one. Materials used include fabrics, rubber stamps, botanicals, ribbons, handmade papers, lace, postage stamps and much, much more. In addition, the book begins with a very informative chapter covering basic card-making techniques and skills. This beautiful book will inspire you to many other design variations of your own

5.0 out of 5 stars Creative handmade cards that show care and thoughtfulness, June 21, 2003
The cards I made using this book was a huge success! There is something for every occasion and style. Most of these are collage styles, but you will learn new techniques with each project, and the materials you need are found around the house. I began to think outside of the box, and I now think twice before throwing away pretty tidbits. Not just for cards, this book also overflowed into my other hobbies: scrapbooking, letter writing, journaling, and gift wrapping. Here's my list of each use for the subsequent hobby:

Scrapbooking: This book could easily be an alternative guide to scrapbook covers and pages. My scrapbook album has a unique artistic design that reflects the theme of the page since the cards in here have seasonal/special occasion appeal.

Letter writing: I like to seal my letters creatively, and the embellishments in this book help me brainstorm for ideas.

Journaling: Sometimes words are not enough, the collages help put it together for me and lends deeper insight into what I need to write.

Gift wrapping: If you have a creative card, why not match it with creative gift wrap and tag? Some of these can be applied to the top of the box as a sort of "plaque", and best of all, you can use plain kraft paper instead of the expensive stuff!
