4.0 out of 5 stars Remarkable overview, October 22, 2003
By A Customer
Full colour map plates trace out the historical development of Canada's significant Ukrainian population, treating issues like the internment operations of 1914-1920, the 1942 conscription plebescite, the creation of a uniquely Ukrainian Canadian landscape through repeated waves of immigration, before, during and after the Second World War. This is a must have book for anyone interested in Canadian ethnic and immigration history. Although it is now somewhat dated, and should be enhanced with new maps tracing out the new geographical and political boundaries of this community, this atlas nevertheless is a standard tool for understanding what is one of Canada's most important ethnocultural communities.
