Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

An estimated 26 million Americans have either fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS), myofascial pain syndrome (MPS), or both in the form of an FMS/MPS complex. The volume by Starlanyl, a physician who specializes in the research and treatment of FMS/MPS and who has both conditions, and Copeland, a writer and FMS/MPS patient, discuss all aspects of both disorders. They also offer information on the latest medications, tips for bodywork, and suggestions for coping with family and work, getting support, and dealing with the healthcare system. Appendixes include lists of agencies and organizations and of audio and video aids. Both books are recommended for consumer health collections, but if only one can be purchased, Starlanyl and Copeland's work has the edge due to its greater scope and more comprehensive coverage.?Janet M. 5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT BOOK TO HAVE AT YOUR FINGERTIPS, July 30, 2000
By A Customer
This book is a must read for anyone who has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, or who suspects they may have FMS. When I first read this book, I could not believe how it was describing me in many of the symptoms I have been experiencing. This book has great resources and suggestions for how to cope with FM. I refer back to it all the time. Easy to understand and very informative. Thank you Miryam for helping me to understand this affliction through your book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must reading for anyone who even suspects fibro!, April 28, 2000
This book has proven stratagies. I am in at least 50% less pain because of this book. Simple things that you normally wouldn't think of are in this book that can help you! This should be in everyone's book case who has this terrible affliction. There is no definate cure, but you can get your life back and this book can help! Great resources, drugs, vitamins, etc.. Great suggestions. I was even skeptical at first, but it worked for me and I think it will for you if you give it a chance..

Tim

5.0 out of 5 stars A "must" read for anyone suffering with fibromyalgia, January 31, 1999
I came across this book on the Internet one night when I was hurting and crying and didn't know what else to do. I believe it changed my life because up until now no one could tell me how to stop hurting. Everyone diagnosed with fibromyalgia should read this only if to understand yourself.
