5.0 out of 5 stars Nice variety, not too complex, December 22, 1999

A good selection of projects, most of which can be made in a day. Instructions are clear with good color pictures of each finished project. Most are made of cedar for weather resistance. Some are for the gardening, like the bean brace, compost bin and seedling tray. Others are just for use outdoors like the two-person picnic table.

1.0 out of 5 stars Needs Better Palns, July 22, 2005
By christopheryeats "cyeats2" (Wichita, Kansas United States) - See all my reviews
This book is spoiled by poor plans for the projects. Here is an example: for the fire wood brace the cut list say 4 legs 3/3"x5-1/2"x36". So, should this board be a, say, 2x4, or maybe a 1x12. The book dooes not include this information on any of the projects.

4.0 out of 5 stars fun and easy
I wish I had this book when I first started in woodworking. The book is aimed at the true beginner, including a discussion of the tools needed to complete the projects. Read more
