Editorial Reviews
From AudioFile
Most people know about Paul Revere's famous ride, but not from the perspective of the mare, Scheherazade, that carried him. Davina Porter narrates Lawson's clever tale with unfailing enthusiasm. Her agreeable voice fits the character of Scheherazade perfectly and achieves a variety of distinct characterizations. Since many of the characters are of British origin, including Scheherezade Porter's British accent fits it perfectly. She mimics the stuffy haughtiness of old Colonel Dalrymple, a Redcoat, and convincingly portrays American colonists like Samuel Adams. Porter's expertly animated and pleasing performance ensures that even the youngest listeners will enjoy the humor and excitement. P.A.J. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine
