Product Description

Picking up after the dramatic cliffhanger that ended Book Six, Sabrina and Daphne’s prayers are finally answered when their parents awake from their sleeping spell. But their happy reunion is short-lived, as they are caught in the middle of a war between the Scarlet Hand and Prince Charming’s Everafter army. As the family works to help the prince’s ragtag group of rebels and protect their friends, Sabrina comes face-to-face with the family’s deadliest enemy—the mysterious Master—who reveals a secret so shocking it will rock the entire family to its core.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun series!, May 13, 2009
By Homeschool Rocks! Mom "Mom of 6" (Fredericksburg, VA, USA) - See all my reviews
Great addition to the series!! Some mysteries are solved, many more still exist to be solved - will the Sisters Grimm be able to do it? Probably - "they are Grimms, this is what they do!"

This one keeps all the humor of the previous books, but adds some sadness as well. They are at war, after all.

Loved it!

5.0 out of 5 stars series gets better and better, April 30, 2009

Volume 7 takes us even deeper into the world of the Sisters Grimm. Beware the spoiler review below with the title "Good Read"! It's written by a kid who did not realize that some people reading the review have not yet read the book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Happily entertained ever after, June 17, 2009
Fairy tales have been appropriated by authors for years, often to great effect. Luckily, just because it's been done many times before doesn't mean it can't be done again and done well. Michael Buckley has nicely appropriated the entire realm of fantasyland to put into his series of novels, //The Sisters Grimm//.

The series borrows characters galore to populate its pages--Puck, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Robin Hood and his merry men, to name just a very few. Of course, none is still playing out his or her circumscribed role of yore. Snow White has been around for about 700 years ("Everafters," as the characters prefer to be called, live just about forever), and now she's a master of self-defense. Briar Rose owns a coffee shop. In //The Everafter War//, the latest (seventh) in the series, a grown-up Goldilocks still hangs out with the three bears, and she insists on rearranging everything wherever she is.

The sisters of the title are Sabrina and Daphne, and they have been battling strange creatures throughout the series while their parents have been in an enchanted sleep. Now, their parents are waking up, but the family must protect themselves and their town from the Master and his evil gang the Scarlet Hand. By the end, someone gets the upper hand, but the war (and the series) still isn't over.

//The Everafter War// is an entertaining, clever ride for middle readers and their parents.
