4.0 out of 5 stars For candy lovers everywhere..., November 23, 2002
By A Customer
This book is not only gorgeous, the recipes are easy and taste out of this world. I made turtles first thing, and was astonished at how easy it was. Course, then I had to eat the 48 turtles I just made, which wasn't too difficult! The instructions are simple to follow, and the results are spectacular. I recommend it to anyone who loves candy or loves making special gifts. Top notch!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting,but, needs a bit more, March 14, 2003
By Lisa Vaccaro (Jamestown, NY USA) - See all my reviews
I'd never seen a real recipe for sugarplums. That was really a treat. The confections are obviously high class and fancy. The only thing I found wrong with it was that there were not enough photographs included in it. I mainly bought the book because there's a marzipan pig recipe and eggnog truffles. Unfortunately, there were no pictured instructions on how to form them or what they look like after they're made. There are nice pictures included, just not enough of them. But again, I can tell that the recipes are of very good quality. Enough so to make what's displayed in the book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book-better than many candy books, March 4, 2008
By never enough books (East Coast, USA) - See all my reviews
I really like this book and have made about half of the recipes. It is British, so that may appeal to some and not to others. I like it because it has authentic and traditional European recipes, as well as yummy goodies we all can relate to. The recipes go from standards (divinity, caramels) to unusual (goat cheese cognac truffles). There are hints and comments throughout which I always appreciate in a cookbook (gives me the sense that the author has actually tested the recipes repeatedly) and there are photos with every recipe (a must as far as I am concerned!). I own 8 candy cookbooks and this one is the best.
