1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money!, July 16, 2003
By A Customer
I was looking forward to getting my hands on this book with the expectations of finding useful tips on beauty and maternity fashion. It was a big disappointment. It doesn't tell you anything that you don't already know (e.g. be proud of your voluptuous body, make the most of your glowing skin, wear cool clothes, etc.). There is no substance to how to achieve these suggestions.

1.0 out of 5 stars Glib, superficial, and patronizing, October 24, 2004
By Herodias Gonzo (Austin, Texas) - See all my reviews
Contextually, this book little more than a glorified PowerPoint presentation. And substantively, it is chock full of glib, superficial advice freely given by someone who has no idea what she's talking about. Karen Salmansohn totally blows it in her introduction when she reveals (or at least implies) that she has never personally experienced the combined joys and nightmares of pregnancy. Guess what? I'd find her advice on wearing a bikini a lot more useful if I knew that she personally had once weighed so much that she could fight as a Light Heavyweight.

2.0 out of 5 stars It's not what you think, June 15, 2004
By RikaRae (Colorado, United States) - See all my reviews
I have to agree with some other reviews here in that this book was a disappointment. I thought it was going to be a normal-sized book when I ordered it, but it actually took me about 20 minutes to read. Oh sure, it's attractive with lots of cute pictures, but if you're thinking like I was that it was going to give you lots of ideas on how to be a "Hot Mama," forget it because it just doesn't. I received no new information, which is what I normally read for, ya know. Although I do agree with the other reviews that say it would make a great baby shower gift - it is a fun little book. But there's really nothing more to say about it except if you really must read it, you could probably get it from the library and save your money.
