5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, July 16, 2008

I was so glad I found this when I first got pregnant. Preparing for motherhood is a pretty overwhelming endeavor, and these tidy lists are a great way to keep you on track. I really was looking for something that would organize me, just like when I was getting married and had an organizer I carried around. Everything out there is more journal oriented. This is perfect! I was able to keep all my questions for the doctor, lists of things I still needed to do, and reminders to myself all in one place! I think everyone who is pregnant should have this book if you are in to keeping "Things to do" lists.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful and helpful! Everyone should have one, especially the first go-round!, August 29, 2009

I ran across this book at a bookstore in Nashville. Being newly pregnant, I was really excited to have some sort of starting point as to how to get organized for our upcoming arrival.

One of the most helpful/useful features is the section for doctor's appointments. Each appointment has a separate page with room to list the date, time, doctor's name, purpose of visit (I always put 16 weeks, 20 weeks, 38 weeks, etc.) and then it has room for questions/answers for the doctor. Each week, I jotted down a few questions and took the book to the office with me and wrote down the answers as they came. I now have a wonderful record of what I was wondering during the pregnancy and of the helpful info given to me by my physicians. There's even a pocket in the back to keep doctor's papers, appt cards, ultrasound photos, etc.

Another aspect of this book that I love is that it keeps everything baby-related in one place. The web and other books are filled with "what to take to the hospital," "how to plan for the nursery," "items needed for baby," "etc" LISTS but this keeps all of them together in a spiral bound book. Even now, I'm taking a break from referring to the "Gifts" section (to write-thank you notes) to write this review.

Here are a few of the sections of this fun, practical notebook:
- Doctor's appointments
- Name that baby (no suggestions...just a place for writing ideas)
- Clothes for you
- Projects
- Recommended reading and resources
- Baby's bedroom (this does have a few items listed, which i found helpful)
- Child care
- Pediatricians
- Labor support
- Favors to ask
- Gifts
- Hospital bag (I am so happy to have this section in the book. There are many online but I love this one and really appreciate that it is in the book that I've been toting around for 41 weeks).
- Contraction log
- Other lists...

I can't recommend this book enough. I plan to give it to a newly pregnant friend next week and hope she enjoys it as much as I have.
