5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!, September 8, 2009
By H. Steele (Kentucky) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I love the stories in this book! I actually found a free digital copy, but after reading the first 3 or 4 stories, I knew I had to have a printed copy to share with my mom!! Aunt Jane is a great character-- I really feel like I'm in the room with her, listening to her share memories as only she can. There are a few references to dress and customs that are unfamiliar to us now, but not so much that I couldn't figure them out and still enjoy the stories...

Basically, if you're a Southern country girl (or at least had parents or grandparents that shared their country roots and memories with you), there'll be a lot to love, smile about, and laugh at in these lively and entertaining tales! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Relax with Aunt Jane and visit a gentler time, March 14, 2009
This is a book I read over and over. I first discovered it close to 40 years ago, and each time I pick it up, I enjoy it as much as the first time. I highly recommend it. Its lessons are timeless!

5.0 out of 5 stars I feel as if Aunt Jane is a dear friend, June 24, 2000
By Kym Skaggs (Georgia, United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Aunt Jane of Kentucky (Hardcover)
I have read this book many times. It is not only a book about the past of our country, it is a view into everyday life in the 1800's. Aunt Jane is wise and funny and the characters she describes in the book come to life. The quilting chapter is for anyone who loves quilts. Aunt Jane is wonderful.
