Product Description

An exploration of human adolescence, this book is unique because of its ethological perspective. The author presents a comprehensive treatment of adolescent development from a functional, evolutionary point of view, providing a research-based description of human adolescence. He also offers a comparative perspective, describing adolescence in other species, human cultures, and historical periods.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book and professor, October 15, 2009
I actually have taken two courses with Dr. Weisfeld at Wayne State University. He loves relating all facets of psychology to evolutionary theory. His lectures and writing are very clear and coherent. I highly recommend this book for everyone who wants to know the origin of various behaviors. I hope he updates this book soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Something rare!!!, February 23, 2008
It is not easy to find a great book about adolescence and evolution! Glenn Weisfeld helped enormously to the understanding of this period of changes and the human development, specially for the human behavior evolution student.
