Editorial Reviews

Product Description

The overall opinion we have of ourselves and the value we place on ourselves as people can have a dramatic effect on our happiness. If you are troubled by uncertainty and self-doubt, or have thoughts about yourself that are often critical, these beliefs can contaminate many aspects of your life, from your personal relationships to your work and leisure time. Your health and energy level may also be affected.

Based on the clinically proven techniques of cognitive behavioral therapy, Overcoming Low Self-Esteem has been developed to help readers break out of the vicious cycle of self-destructive thinking. By learning the art of self-acceptance, readers can alter their lives for the better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Help Yourself - Fast Start Program, September 11, 2005

This book gets to the basic points quickly and provides excellent examples. The easy-to-understand and use worksheets are also very helpful. It gently, yet firmly, guides one through the process of understanding the reasons behind low self esteem and the process to getting better. Great for any level of understanding of basic psychology.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book was excellent, September 13, 2008
By MarkXP (Oklahoma) - See all my reviews
I am not in the field of psychology, but I did buy this as a self help book. You need to stay focused and think about what the author is saying, but there is no psycho-babble. Clearly written by someone who knows a lot about her subject. When it becomes apparent how these beliefs/opinions came into your thinking, you begin to learn how to chip away at them on your own.You do not need to have taken any courses in psychology to get the maximum benefit from this book.In my opinion.
