About the Author
Thom Loverro has an M.A. in journalism and public affairs, and he teaches writing at American University. He is a veteran sportswriter and sports columnist for The Washington Times. Loverro has received several awards and honors for his writing, and he has written two other sports histories, The Authorized History of the Washington Redskins and Home of the Game: The Story of Camden Yards. He lives in Columbia, MD.
