From School Library Journal
Kindergarten-Grade 3-These series titles give readers a glimpse into the inner workings and operations of a variety of public buildings and institutions. Each double-page spread consists of two or three short paragraphs in large print with full-color line drawings covering at least half of the space. The vocabulary is a little above the interest level; specialized terms are defined in context and in the glossary at the back of each book. Questions highlighted in blue direct readers to find an object or count several items that are depicted. The game aspect and cartoon-style illustrations are attempts to keep things lively but do not compensate for the dry texts. These books might be useful for community-worker units or special populations, but probably won't be popular in their own right.
