While the book contains a helpful summary of the basics, it was published originally in 1977 and revised in 1988. Therefore, it quotes the old version of Canon III.3, which was revised and replaced in 2003. Unfortunately, the changes made in 2003 to the definitions of licensed lay ministries are significant and are not covered here.
