Karin Williams is sent to England to work on a construction project because she's the best engineer and the only one with telemetry expertise. She is forewarned that Rowan Marsden, the project leader, has an unfavorable attitude towards women engineers and that he has been known to be especially difficult to work with. When Karin answers her page at the airport, sparks fly and not only because Rowan tells her that he forbids women at the site and therefore she will be on the next flight out! Karin insists that she can and will do the job. Rowan scrutinizes everything she does but can't find fault with anything and eventually he acknowledges that she is right for the job. And while the job is progressing along nicely, the sexual tension between Karin and Rowan is so thick you can cut it with a knife! A touch here, a lingering gaze there and neither one of them can stand the heat. Giving into their lust only heightens their awareness and need but Rowan has made it perfectly clear that he will not make a commitment which is exactly what career minded Karin realizes she wants. A coworker is sent to work with Karin and she gives him some responsibilities though she is wary of his competence. A horrible accident happens that lands Karin in the hospital and while she recuperates at the Marsden's estate, she has made her decision about Rowan, and he has made one too, but is it the same one?
