From Library Journal
This book contains all the basics for the artist or photographer who is interested in doing his or her own framing and mounting. Hyder explains the characteristics of various kinds of mats and frames, and he includes instructions and illustrated examples for using them. Tools, raw materials, and specialized treatments such as fabric-covered mats and gold leafing of frames are also covered. The mounting section includes both wet and dry mounting methods. The author's step-by-step instructions are good and should enable his readers to achieve professional-looking results. There are not many good, well-illustrated books on this topic available, and this one should be welcome in art and crafts collections.
