Gr 7 Up--After explaining the importance of sleep and what sleeping disorders are, Strazzabosco-Hayn discusses the consequences of various drugs and gives suggestions on how to get a good night's rest. Webb describes gang dynamics and their relationship to drugs. She also offers advice on how to stay clear of gangs and where to go for help. The short sentences and large print give these series entries an easy look that is somewhat misleading. Black-and-white and full-color photographs show multiethnic teens engaged in activities corresponding to the texts. Volumes in the "Encyclopedia of Psychoactive Drugs" series (Chelsea, 1991) deal with particular drugs and their relation to sleep and are more in-depth. Renardo Barden's Gangs (Crestwood, 1989) provides a lot of history, but Webb's book is more useful for teens confronting gang-related problems. Martha Gordon, formerly at South Salem Library, NY
