Is there an Anglican or Episcopalian approach to the Bible that can be distinguished from the way other denominations read the Scripture? Well, I have been Baptist, United Methodist and now Episcopalian, but I don't see a distinctly Anglican approach to understanding or interpreting the Bible. You might want to read this if you are into the history of the Church or Anglicanism. Maybe your professor says you have to read it, so you read it. Otherwise I'm not sure why anyone would read this dry, long-winded book. If you are a layperson in the Episcopal Church (or any denomination) and want a readable book on how we should understand the Bible, here's a list of some interesting books I have read:

Inspiration & Incarnation by Peter Enns
Struggling With Scripture by Brueggemann and others
The Living Word of God by Ben Witherington, III
What Does A Progressive Christian Believe? by Delwin Brown
From Eden To Babel by Richard Nelson

If you are interested specifically in Anglican scholarship, you might want to check out a new study series called Conversations With Scripture, which is published by the Anglican Association of Biblical Scholars. Good short but insightful little Bible studies - academic but aimed at nonscholars.
