From Library Journal
Two Chicago White Sox fans pay tribute to the outstanding seasons and memorable games of Yankee players. They use Sabermetrics of the Society for American Baseball Research to rank 25 top achievers and 25 near-greats, with 15 given honorable mention. Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, and Mantle are among the Hall of Famers cited. From 1998, only Bernie Williams rates even honorable mention, though the whole 1998 team is given a special tribute. One hopes that the factual and statistical errors that appear in the proofs will be corrected in the final version. However, this intriguing and provocative roster is a natural for public libraries.AMorey Berger, St. Joseph's Hosp. Lib., Tucson, AZ
