Grade 1-3-- A group of children demonstrates love of the Earth and of each other in this story. The ink-and-watercolor cartoon-style illustrations are a colorful and lively accompaniment to the rhymed text. The boys and girls, of varied ethnic/cultural backgrounds, tackle the problem of cleaning up the environment and nurturing its rebirth. While the premise of the book is noble, the solutions are simplistic and the narrative borders on being didactic. Although well-meaning, this book is a weak offering.
