Popular Southern Baptist pastor Stanley (Enter His Gates) contends that we all have unmet needs for love and acceptance, and for financial and emotional stability. Using Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply all your needs according to His riches... " the author asserts that God provides totally for all our needs. Stanley says that people's addictions are ways that they try to meet the needs they have, and that many people avoid meeting their true needs. For him, God's purpose in meeting our needs is "essential for our well-being and wholeness... essential to our deepening relationship with God... and essential to a positive and enriching relationship with other human beings." The author notes that human sinfulness creates the necessity of having a right relationship with God. Throughout, Stanley stresses that the most basic need we have is a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Once this relationship is established, all other needs can be met. Stanley's book will prove popular among his followers.

Dr. Charles Stanley clearly defines needs and wants in this both insightful and inspirational book. He helps the reader understand their wants and needs, then leads the reader to successful methods to fulfill those needs.

This book sincerely changed my life. Things that most of us consider needs are really wants and each chapter places the reader closer to fulfillment for those wants and needs. I occasionally pull out the notebook I kept while reading this book as a reference and inspiration.

I picked up this book when trying to better understand God's plan for me in life. I had so many questions about my path in life and was angry with myself because I could not achieve those things. This book helped me answer many questions and move toward peace.

This book is a must have.

this book has answered so many questions that i have asked so many pastors with no avail. my mind is filled with hope, where i thought i was alone. charles stanley is wonderful, and my own doctor says he has learnd so much more from his books. thank you, for helping me get through very bad times since 1996. i know that i am on the right road, for heaven, and God is my way to heaven thanks to charles stanley.

This book has it all for meeting needs and desires of the Christian male/female for your daily life that follows most of Dr. Stanley's sermons seen on TV.
