Although I agree that this book is certainly a bargain when compared to the standard textbook options that often cost 3-4 times as much, I was disappointed to find that no solutions to the exercises are provided. One must purchase ANOTHER book before the exercises in this book can really be said to be useful. I am a firm believer in immediate correction when it comes to language review and acquisition--spending time on exercises without knowing which you did wrong will only reinforce what are your misunderstandings of grammar. However, if you are willing (and able) to buy the solutions manual along with this book, then it will make a good review--though it won't be the bargain that it at first appeared.

I used this book during my year in AP Spanish class. My Spanish teacher suggested that we buy this workbook for class, and it was the best suggestion she made. Even though I'm not in high school anymore, I still use this book in order to review grammar from time to time. This book has everything, including a section on Hispanic culture. I found the section on verbs expecially useful, and there is a Spanish/English vocabulary list in the back. The book has almost 600 pages, but do not let the size of it scare you! It's an excellent value and will help you to review or to learn Spanish. I just wish I had this book during my second year of Spanish!

"Repaso" is a complete review of the grammar of the Spanish language, written in a clear and engaging style. It is organized in such a way that accessing information about discreet grammar points is very easy. I head an organization (Platiquemos - Let's Talk) that teaches Spanish to adults; we have found "Repaso" to be so valuable that we are cross-referencing our own texts so that students who want or need more grammar information (we stress communication) can easily find it.

The best news about "Repaso", though, is its almost unbelievably low price. It offers more valuable information than texts with prices six, seven, or more, times higher. It is, in short, an incredible value.
