5.0 out of 5 stars All spanish verbs you can possibly think of are conjugated!, November 17, 1998
By julia789@hotmail.com (Ontario, Canada) - See all my reviews
I think this is a truly amazing book, since not only does it give all the conjuagated verb forms and the lists of verbs following the same pattern, but also makes you think, how to conjugate verbs in certain tenses and translate them in english, even though English translation is there anyways. It's a great help to me in university level spanish and I think it would be to anyone who wants to learn the language and speak it correctly, verbs being very essential parts of the sentences. The authors are geniuses for making this book really worthwhile!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book enabled me to learn and function in 12 months., July 6, 1998
By MGMSBGPW (Detroit, Michigan) - See all my reviews
This book was the essential piece of enabling me to learn spanish in 12 months. With manufacturing plants in Mexico, I needed to add Spanish to my English and French. This book enabled me to use 80% of all spanish verbs and all their tenses within 2 months. I have used this book in teaching spanish courses at my work and will vouch for its use.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing--better alternatives, October 10, 2003
I have three Spanish verb books: this one as well as Christopher Kendris's "501 Spanish Verbs" and Alfredo Gonzalez Hermoso's "Spanish Verb Manual." "The Complete Handbook of Spanish Verbs" was a real disappointment, and my least favorite of the three. It looks like oversized typewritten pages reduced to fit an already large 8 1/2 x 11 inch format, so the type is small and difficult to read and there is a tremendous amount of wasted white space (I wish Amazon.com would allow one to "look inside" this book, to prove what I am saying). But aside from the poor layout, the book is badly organized and frustrating to use, especially when compared to my favorite of the three, the "Spanish Verb Manual" by Hermoso, a great book that is half the physical dimensions but contains more information, is expertly organized and contains very helpful visual aids (color highlighting of specific persons and tenses of verbs that are irregular) which makes it is a pleasure rather than a pain to use. Interestingly, BOTH books are published by the same company (Passport Books / NTC), but "Spanish Verb Manual" by A. G. Hermoso is much better.

Absolutely the finest verb handbook available. What it lacks in polish (it's not an attractive layout), it gains in its thorough treatment of Spanish verbs. Read more
