Product Description
Developments in microelectronics, micromachining, and medical device design show great promise for creating electronically-assisted intelligent therapeutic systems for home use diagnostics and out-patient care. The costs of therapeutic development and distribution have been prohibitive, however, important strides are being made. Electronically Controlled Drug Delivery provides an overview of advances in drug delivery using electronics to regulate the delivery profile and optimize therapy. Electronically Controlled Drug Delivery offers students, researchers, and industrial scientists current broad-ranged coverage of novel electronic drug delivery technologies. The therapeutic rationale, underlying principles, basics of critical technologies, and application to potential commercial products and novel technologies are all addressed in this state-of-the-art reference.

3.0 out of 5 stars Electronically Controlled Drug Delivery, August 5, 2000
By A Customer
I thought that this book was an excellent synopsis of drug delivery. It included several versitile approaches and some detailed explanations of various procedures. I only wished the there was a longer and more detailed introductory chapter that explained the problems one faces when trying to establish a viable methodolgy. I also think it would have been beneficial to see more extensive calculations.
