Product Description
The Cobain Dossier brings together all the best writing about both Cobain and the phenomenally successful Nirvana from both before and after his death. While not implying that there was anything suspicious in his death, every commentator has a different view on the motivation behind his suicide. This book presents a picture of the man, his influence and the impact of his life and death on his generation.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as it sounds, but not all that bad either., May 25, 2002

The Cobain Dossier is a good book and is a good read if you have the extra time, but if you're looking for something with a lot of detail I recommend Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana. The Cobain Dossier does state some facts and has some awesome pictures, if anything I would have bought it anyhow just for the pictures. Although, the thing about the book that I don't really like is each chapter is written by a different author and although it does go in order, the chapters really don't flow. Most all the information found in this book can be found in Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana, and Who Killed Kurt Cobain (The Mysterious Death of an Icon). But again, if you have the extra time and money, this is a good book. If not for the reading, then for the pictures alone.

2.0 out of 5 stars not very impressive, January 4, 2005
The word usage was good, not ab ad writer, but some facts were way out of truth, like how he describes kurt "and did so much damage to his head hat police could only identify his body through fingerprints. dental records were no use because nothing was left of his mouth" that is total bs. there was no exit wound, and hardly any blood. his head was clearly not "blown off" and there was hardly ANY damage to his head.. that upsetted me.. its an insult to kurt's memory

3.0 out of 5 stars Dead almost 8 years now....., May 22, 2002
By Lina Bell (in front of my computer) - See all my reviews
Much like Lennon, Hendrix, and Morrison, the ghost of Kurt Cobain has probably learned that there really is no bigger business in entertainment than an untimely demise. This dossier gathers together 22 articles from British and American magazines on the man, his band and his wife, each recounting the overly familiar story of grunge, drugs, stomach pains and shotguns. While often engrossing stuff, much here dwells on post-suicide events, making this not only morbid, but sometimes repetetive reading.
