5.0 out of 5 stars A topic somewhat out of the mainstream, but well done, August 27, 2007
As an openly gay male, it is understandable that Mosse was interested in how homosexuals were viewed in the 3rd Reich. He also broadened his scope to consider sexuality in general in this uniqe period of history. The book is well done, and although the topic may not appeal to the average reader, it is unfair to give him a low rating just because you find the topic distasteful. Mosse was a first-rate scholar and an engaging writer, whether you agree with his sexual inclinatins or not.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nationalism And Sexuality By George L. Mosse, November 28, 1997
By A Customer
Enlightening discussion of how sexuality and the youth movement in Germany around WWI created a strong sense of nationalism
