4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not great, April 26, 2004
This book has a wealth of information on the occult. It includes an alphabetical listing of many obscure topics. For any student of the occult, these entries will be valuable.

However:
The book does have a few flaws. The particular edition I have has incredibly small type size, making it a difficult read.

In addition to this, the author fails to give treatment to a few occultist who I believe deserve it. He goes to great lengths detailing the lives of Arab doctors who were alchemists in the 1300's but then fails to even mention Nostradamus or Alister Crowley. If he failed to include these 2 "giants", I believe the corpus of his work is flawed.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Reference Dictionary, December 4, 2001
By "teraferma" (San Diego, CALIFORNIA, USA) - See all my reviews
A wonderful reference guide to obscure mythological names and terms. Reads much like a dictionary. I have had a copy for years and consider it a necessity.
