Editorial Reviews

Review

Carranco, Labbe, Ericson, and Caxton have all combined their talents to bring forth a book that surely must be necessary for everyone interested in trees, conservation, industry, and the general welfare of the people who must depend upon the natural resources of the land for their livelihood. -- JOURNAL OF THE WEST, Los Angeles, California, January 1976. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Product Description

The story of the California redwood lumber industry also tells the stories of the men, the trains, and the land. Illustrations are outstanding for a vast collection of old historical photographs fill the pages. This is a MUST book for the historian, the railroad buff, and the timber enthusiast.

I could not put this book down! It is very interesting and has 250 pictures. Most photoes by the famous A.W. Ericson. This book is a must if you plan to visit the remaining redwood forests.
