4.0 out of 5 stars Lifestyles of the Rich and Pagan, March 19, 1997
By A Customer
Tons of articles from people describing their altars and sacred spaces. Some readers complain that it's like Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous -- it shows you elaborate temples you're never going to have the money or space to own. That's partially true (though I greatly enjoyed listening to Marion Zimmer Bradley explain her sanctuary!). But many of the writers are every-day folk with simple but beautiful sites. I found hundreds of tidbits lodged in these pages, and my own sacred space is a little more inspiring thanks to it

5.0 out of 5 stars Read EVERYTHING these two have written!, September 8, 2003
By A Customer
I love the Campanellis. Their books are well researched, written, and full of valuable ideas.

This is the best book for information on how to build an altar. Rather than the simplistic diagrams and drawings in other books, there are black and white photos of actual altars, indoors and outdoors. Rather than telling the reader to "do it this way," this book informs and inspires the reader to discover what an altar means to the individual.

Like all the Campanellis books, this book is beautifully illustrated and gently written. A must have for all Pagans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring!, December 8, 2001
By Skye (Canada BC) - See all my reviews
A Great read:)
Not so much of an Instructional "how to", However this book by the Campanelli's is a gem for ideas. So very interesting and exciting to have a small look into the sacred spaces of other pagan folk. Indoors and out..from the elaborate, permanant set-up to the simple and temporary, this book will help any person get in the mind set to build their sacred space.
Beautiful pictures full of mystery and magick. As a avid circle and grove builder I got alot out of this book, I hope you do too!

dear practitioners of magic,
... we should state our bias. We appear in this book from page 100 to 107 and for that alone we are inclined to like it. Read more
