About the Author
Rebecca Ann Rupp has actively been involved with Barbie dolls and accessories since she received her first Barbie doll at the age of four. She is not only an avid collector of Barbie dolls and accessories, but is also a modern collector of toys and dolls.

Rebecca has shared her Barbie expertise through club membership, slide presentations, programs, seminars, workshops at conventions and through various news interviews. An immediate past officer and member of the UFDC Derby City Doll Club of Kentucky, Rebecca designed the club's logo. In 1988, Derby City Doll Club hosted their Region 8 Conference, "Vive les Bebes" at which time they sponsored Rebecca's first exhibit, "Welcome to Barbie-town U.S.A."; the appellation she gave her collection at the age of nine. The convention report in Doll Castle News magazine included this popular exhibit. In addition, Rebecca served as chairperson of the "Fashionable Barbie Doll Luncheon". She was editorial assistant and staff writer for "Vive les Bebes" souvenir book, as well as contributing writer of articles published by various other doll publications.

Nationally known as a dealer and appraiser of modern collectible dolls, Rebecca has served in the competition room at the National Barbie Doll Convention and is on her way to becoming a judge. Print and television media have interviewed her on various Barbie topics.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wide but not Deep, August 15, 2008
This book has a lot of different categories and therefore none are complete. You will get a sampling of items across different areas and times, but this will not help you identify the vast majority of what you own or are looking to buy. Price guide in the back only covers those items pictured in the book. Is a good starter book, probably not for the serious collector.
