Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Touch and manipulate gadgets. sponges, cups, rings and sticks with over 160 instantaneous hands-on activities that encourage learning by doing. Activities promote skills such as counting, matching, color recognition, eye-hand coordination and shape identification.

From the Back Cover

Touching and doing stimulate learning. Children want to explore. They are curious. They need to touch, to find out, and to know. We need to surround them with things to explore, wonder about, do and discover.

Simple materials-cups, sponges, stickers, rubber bands, corks, erasers, magnets, coins, marbles, rocks, buttons, rice, beans, and sandpaper-can be made into activities that children want to touch,) manipulate, and use.

Activities in each chapter use the same basic materials and techniques. The activities in Do Touch! can be prepared quickly and easily. The chapters include: sticks, sponges, stickers, cups, pockets, gadgets, transparencies, and rings. Simple, yes! Intriguing, yes! Boring, never!

2.0 out of 5 stars Really not that useful, July 31, 2009

I really didn't find this book very useful. Some of the ideas are good but most of them are just very, very slight variations on each other. As for the good ideas, you can find those in many other books, along with many more useful ones. Skip this and use The Instant Curriculum, which is wonderful.
