Great book! Takes you out of the ordinary and challenges you to go deeper with God. Short but profound and great insights. I'd recommend it to anyone!

5.0 out of 5 stars priceless, February 7, 2007
In this 'little blue book' Richard Foster speaks of the secret hiding place in God found through contemplative prayer. It's similar to what some today have coined 'soaking prayer' Richard talks about how to find that place of oneness with God and live in and out of that place, giving a pattern a beginner may follow, if needed. He uses teachings and quotes from many of the profound contemplative 'mystics' of past and present, such as Jeanne Guyon, Teresa of Avila, brother Lawrence, Thomas a Kempis, Mother Teresa, and Henri Nowen amongst others. I would highly recommend this book to anyone seeking information on contemplative/ medatative/ soaking prayer. I recommend buying this book in multiple quantities to pass as tracks. Many have found a deeper path with the Lord as a result of this "little blue book."
