3.0 out of 5 stars A pointless boring book, January 12, 1999
By A Customer
This book was alright although it didn't have specific information on a step-by-step how-to's. It just recommend on what foods you should eat. To me it was just a waste of money. It's only 48 pages.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, different, with some need for improvement., December 16, 2008
By Chyna "Chyna" (Boulder CO United States) - See all my reviews
The book is unique in that it uses common items found largely in the kitchen (so far I've only needed to go out and buy castor oil). There are lots of facial options, hair conditioning recipes, some skin cleanser recipes, tooth cleaners, wrinkle preventers, and a few other things. So far I have used the oatmeal facial and the cocoa butter oil cleanser and have been quite happy with both. Am about to make the body cleanser/splash (using white wine and rosemary- easy and cheap!) and the pineapple facial.

Some improvements would be an index (I have flipped through the book a LOT trying to find the different facial recipes or other particular recipes) and perhaps a bit more detail on the why and how of it all. However, that being said, it is a fairly cheap book with some good recipes with easy-to-find ingredients and some good insight. This book is a good supplement for someone who wants to make their own skin/hair/eye/nail treatments. It happens to be my first book and will probably be getting a more detailed source sometime in the future (though the internet has been quite helpful in answering many of the questions I have had).
