Editorial Reviews

Product Description

"Scientology is a route, a way, rather than a dissertation or an assertive body of knowledge.

"Through its drills and studies one may find the truth for oneself. It is the only thing that can show you who you really are.

"The technology is therefore not expounded as something to believe but something to do." —L. Ron Hubbard

Even with the vast amounts of technology and science available to man, many have felt powerless to stop the decay and decline seen all around us. A family torn by drug abuse. A broken marriage. The decline of our cities and neighborhoods. The rise of illiteracy. The destruction of the environment. The threat of war.

What is missing?

Simply put, man has not had a real understanding of LIFE itself, how it works and how to make it better.

In the book Scientology: The Fundamentals of Thought, you get to know the basic principles of Scientology which are in essence the basic principles of LIFE itself.

Equipped with this book alone, one can bring about positive changes in the states of health, ability and intelligence. No such knowledge previously existed, and no such results were ever attainable as those which can be reached by a study of this volume. This book should be read by someone with an inquiring nature, or by any who aspire to a better life. Study this volume carefully and apply it and a better life can result. This book contains more than theories—it includes exact techniques anyone can immediately apply.

In this book you will discover:

The actual laws of understanding and how to use them to improve communication with others. The three conditions of existence that comprise life and how these affect a person’s ability to enjoy it. The anatomy of problems and how to resolve them. The eight basic urges in life and how by not having them in alignment can bring about your downfall. How to treat life as a game—and win. The three classes of universes and how these influence you. If you disagree with how things are, if you want a better life, then this book will take you on a journey where there is no limit to what you can accomplish, no end to what you can achieve.

Book Features:

Paperback format 198 pages Full glossary included Detailed subject index Results from others who have read the book:

"Sometimes in life achieving a goal large or small can seem very complex and possibly there are barriers to accomplishment. After having studied the entire book Scientology: The Fundamentals of Thought I found I was able to play the game of life, knowing with certainty that things would turn out right—and that's exactly what happened!... I was able to improve my relationship with my husband, my parents and my son through understanding them better. My work became not just easier, but more enjoyable. I was able to enjoy being with people so much more and better deal with even difficult circumstances. Best of all, I am in a much better position to help others." —T.L.

"I happened upon the book Scientology: The Fundamentals of Thought one day in a bookstore, stayed up all night reading it and my life has not been the same since. I immediately saw how I had a problem relating to others in many cases, and with the materials L. Ron Hubbard presented in the book I was able to improve the way I deal with other people which has made them and me a lot happier." —M.T.

5.0 out of 5 stars A True Understanding Of Life, November 5, 1997
By A Customer
This book goes over the basics of Scientology and explains them in a fascinating and practical way.

This was the first book I read on the subject and I think what I enjoyed about it the most was that I could try out the ideas for myself. I didn't just have to believe or accept anything, the book challenged me to think for myself.

The datum that the hightest purpose in the universe is the creation of effect explained to me a great deal about the behavior of myself and others and actually made me much more tolerant of others.

The chapter on games and how they apply to life enabled me to see where I was getting involved with activities that were not what I really wanted and I was then able to make changes so I was doing what I wanted and I felt much happier with myself and my life.

I could go on, but I would fill up the whole page.

I will end by saying that I recommend this book highly. Read it and make your life go the way you want it to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good book, no matter your philosophy/religion, October 19, 2009
I've read this book a few years ago and I'm about to read it for the second time. I'm not a scientologist nor do I plan to become one. I've never read any other scientology book or pamphlet.

As far as philosopy is concerned, this book didn't reveal anything especially new or astounding to me.

The value of it is in the manner in which it teaches one to control their thoughts instead of allowing their thoughts to control them. If you have a phobia, problems with procrastination, a goal you wish to reach, a tendency to give yourself negative feedback, or if you just wish to change for other reasons, this book effectively teaches you to (to put it as simply as possibly) have your CONSCIOUS mind control your subconscious mind. For too many people, the opposite is true. Do you want to start your own business, but have a nagging voice tell you that you've never been successful and shouldn't expect to be now? Do you consciously say that you will do something important today, and your subconscious tells you it can wait? Why are you allowing your subconscious mind to stop you from what you consciously decided you want to do? This book really helps you in addressing this problem.

Again, I'm not a scientologist and don't intend to become one. Wisdom doesn't come in the vehicle of only one religion, one language, one culture, one philosophy. Don't allow your mistrust of the religions or cultures of others impede your acceptance of wisdom.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book for those on a spiritual quest..., February 3, 2001
This book is not light reading. I do think it is a vital book for anyone who is actively searching through different spiritual philosophies, looking for some answers to the basic questions of existence.

Chapters in this book discuss freedom and why we have barriers. The relationship between the mind, spirit and body. How we can be spiritual beings, yet are in a position where we have limited knowledge and abilities.

This is really intense stuff - and the meat and potatoes of true spiritual philosophy. I find this book to be challenging, yet inspirational to me every time I read it.

I recommend this book to anyone who is awake enough as a spiritual being to pose the questions, "Why am I here?" and "How can I improve my situation?"

Happy reading!
