Must reading for any Christian struggling with homosexuality, June 1, 1998
This book was like looking in a mirror for me. In a tough-love sort of personal way, the author speaks to the reader in the first person, and takes away much, if not all, of the confusion experienced by the Christian who is struggling with the spiritually conflicting desire to love people of the same gender in a way which, according to the Bible, God forbids. The question, "Why am I this way?" was answered from many avenues as the author shared the growing pains experienced by people whom he has counselled over the years. I found that there are many others out there just like me. There is a reason we struggle with these desires, and it is not because we were born this way. This book delivers a foundation for solid hope of leaving these desires behind, through Christ, and through healthy relationships. That is what the reader can expect from this book, if he is willing to listen. This book speaks mostly to men, although there is a section dedicated to women as well. And the author is not just a professional counsellor, he himself is a "struggler." The Body of Christ would do well also, by reading this book. The Church will never effectively deal with homosexuality in our society, until it learns to deal with it effectively within its own self. Many in the family are wounded and confused, because it simply doesn't know how to help us. Most Sincerely, Dean

Homosexuality has no place in the Christian life... I knew this all my life and could not find a way out of it... Being gay has never been ok FOR ME.... there are thousands of men who do not want the gay desires that they have... I would say that very few do... if gay men are honest, they will tell you that they would never chose to be this way, they would never wish this life of grief on anyone... yet just because they do not know the way out, they think there is no way out... and when someone like Joe Dallas says there is a way out... it just causes them more pain because it makes them face the fact that there are answers and it takes work to find them... when I learned to get real with Christ, I no longer had to go around trying to find other people to fulfill my needs... The guys that have posted comments against this book, they hurt... they have such huge voids in their life... just like I once did.... spending you week looking for a date (sex) on Saturday night gets old... you soon have to fill you life with drugs, sex in public restrooms and city parks... it never ends for them unless they change or some even take their own life.... never knowing peace is a terrible way to live... I have heard the same comments for years... "just accept who you are!"... that would be accepting yourself as a Child of God and following His Heart.... nothing else will ever work and anyone reading this knows the emptiness that the "GAY" life causes... the conflicts are never ending... finding a guy that you can trust and have a long term sexual relationship, it never happens... gay men try to fill their voids with sex... the void is never filled and yet another guys suffers rejection and heads back to the bars seaching for "love" once again! I have walked out of the gay life, into a life filled with Christ, He is the LOVER OF MY SOUL, the emptiness if filled in my life and I live in peace... Finding the road map for a journey out of the "Gay Life" is not easy... Joe Dallas does not have all the answers, but I promise if you daily seek Christ and trust that he will provide the road map... it will arrive when you least expect it! Look around in your little world of DRAMA... where is the end... where is the happiness, the peace.... why spend a life searching for it... when you could be enjoying it! Blessings to you in your journey, whichever road you chose! ...

One of the best books I ever read, June 8, 2001
By A Customer
This is one of the best books I ever read. It is amazing, what an impact a book can have on people. 'Desires in conflict' helped me so much to understand where I was standing and how I got there. There is a way out of homosexuality! You are not born like that! And this book shows you clearly what you can do to fight it! I think this should be the first book to read if you want more information about homosexuality and how to overcome it.
