While researching background on lives of Maine island lobster fishermen’s families for her recent novel The Summer I Dared, best-selling novelist Barbara Delinsky was captivated by all the interesting, amusing, and surprising information she turned up concerning Maine’s most famous crustacean. She collected much of it into a little book that she had printed up to give to friends, family, and professional colleagues. Part of the proceeds from this book go to the Barbara Delinsky Charitable Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
