Editorial Reviews

Product Description

If you're a Rush Limbaugh fan (a.k.a. a "Dittohead"), then you're familiar with the Limbaugh Lexicon, the show's unique vocabulary that inspired this hilarious compilation of satirical drink recipes. You'll find "adult beverage" recipes such as Entitle-Mint Julep, Environmentalist Wacko Whiskey, Grape Gorbasm, SUV On The Rocks, and the Club G'itmo Guzzler. The Dittohead's Guide To Adult Beverages also provides a comprehensive set of instructions for each adult beverage, guaranteed to entertain anyone who follows American politics – a must-have for Rush Limbaugh listeners and card-carrying conservatives!

From the Author

If you enjoy listening to The Rush Limbaugh Show, you'll love The Dittohead's Guide to Adult Beverages! How can I be so sure? Because this book wasn't written by some arts & croissant crowd liberal Manhattan publishing executive out to make a quick buck. It was written by me – a card-carrying dittohead who has spent over half his life immersed in the infectious airwaves of EIB. Because of my track record as an avid attendee of The Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies, I'm equipped with a superb knowledge of the Limbaugh Lexicon and Rush Limbaugh’s trademark irreverent humor. Each can be found in the sixty-five humorous recipes that comprise The Dittohead's Guide to Adult Beverages, including such notable adult beverages as the Rio Linda Rouser, EIB Ecstasy Elixir, and Club G'itmo Guzzler. Trust me, Rush fans will love this book... But don't just take my word for it, read the sample recipes on Amazon and decide for yourself...!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book!, December 2, 2005
By Kurt A. Johnson (North-Central Illinois, USA) - See all my reviews

I am still laughing! If you know anyone who is a fan of radio raconteur Rush Limbaugh, then this is the gift to buy him or her. Drawing on Rush's massively politically incorrect/leave no Liberal sacred cow un-skewered humor, author Britt Gillette presents 65 adult beverages. But, these are not just any old adult beverages, they are Limbaugh-esque adult beverages with names running from Alec (Baldwin)'s Bon Voyage Black and Tan through the Wife Training Walter (E. Williams).

Yeah, this is a great book! The author does a great job of capturing Rush's style and humor, and produces a really funny book. Any fan of Rush will immediate latch onto this book and get a great thrill out of it. I loved this book, and give it my highest recommendations.

Pull up a comfortable chair, pour yourself a Grape Gorbasm, and read this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars great for parties, December 1, 2005
By Gregory Thomas (Newport News, VA) - See all my reviews
I've never been a huge Rush Limbaugh fan, but I've always enjoyed a good dose of political humor, and Britt Gillette certainly delivers. For the rest of you out there who aren't up on all the Limbaugh lingo, Gillette offers a handy little glossary at the beginning of the book to get everyone on the same page. After that, he sounds off on outrageous liberal ideas and their purveyors. The best part is, the drinks can actually be mixed! This book cries out to be the centerpiece of a theme party, or at least a good conversation starter at a boring cocktail party: mix up a Pregnant Chad or an Affirmative Action Ambrosia and someone is bound to inquire about the name. This book is great fun cover to cover or in small doses--an excellent stocking stuffer!

5.0 out of 5 stars The ideal book for Rush Limbaugh listeners!, December 18, 2005
By charleygirl (Somewhere, USA) - See all my reviews
Despite what some other reviewers have stated (who obviously haven't read this book), The Dittohead's Guide to Adult Beverages is not a book about drinking or mixing actual cocktail recipes. The author simply uses the common Rush term 'adult beverage' (taken from the Limbaugh Lexicon) as a comical device to convey hilarious political humor. I mean, would you really mix up a Jumpin' Jim Jeffords? This is humor people!

Regardless of whether or not you listen to Rush Limbaugh, this is a ridiculously funny book. All you have to do is enjoy politics to get a kick out of it! But if you are a 'dittohead' (defined as some who loves The Rush Limbaugh Show), then you will be ecstatic over this book. It doubles as a definitive guide to the history of the show, with myriad references to things from the past such as Dan's Bake Sale, the Colorado spotted toad (which people licked to get high), Uglo-Americans, and former minority leader Tom 'Puff' Daschle.

Once you start reading this book it's difficult to put down. With recipes such as Ted 'The Swimmer' Kennedy's Boston Sour (also known as Sexual Harrassment On The Beach), Jesse Jackson's Gin & Juice, Moral Moderate Martini, Grape Gorbasm, Global Warming Cider, and French Martini On The Chiracs, you'll be arguing with yourself over which one is the funniest. (Personally, I prefer the Affirmative Action Ambrosia which requires the use of "dark rum in order to rectify the past injustice of rampant light rum preferences"!)

Everything about this book is humorous, from the unique drinking containers it requires to hilarious ingredients and funny instructions. Believe me, if you love Rush, this is the book for you! No doubt, this is headed for the bestseller list!
