Although there are some bright moments in these 30 short stories, the parade of characters ruminating on details of their relationships (past, present and possible) turns tedious all too soon. Typical is Lorrie Sprecher's "Sister Safety-Pin," in which two friends, agonizing over whether or not to have sex, make a list of reasons pro and con. In Barbara Wilson's "Is This Enough For You?" two women who meet at an academic conference weigh their sudden mutual attraction against the impact it would have on their current relationships. Jess Wells follows a couple's romancetry 'marriage' or 'romance'? to avoid repet'n. aa by describing their dinners at "A Favorite Haunt," from the early, passionate days through anniversaries ranging from angry to bittersweet. Merrill Mushroom's delightful "How to Engage in Courting Rituals missing punctuation? aa/nope/pk 1950s Butch-Style in the Bar" offers rules of behavior on playingparallelism. aa the jukebox ("Experiment at home with jukebox poses . . . Be extra casual . . .") and offering a cigarette ("snapping the pack so that three cigarettes shoot up a distance of , , and 1 respectively"). Zahava edited the first volume of Lesbian Love Stories.

I love lesbian love stories, yet it's hard to find them. This book started out great, until a few chapters in. It turned into more sexual than most I love. "First Times", that series, I fell in love with. Since my girl is my first, I love to read about the passion, trials other go through, and after the reviews, thought this one was like that. Not done reading, but I have found a few. I gave it 3 stars because it was more half and half. I should have stuck more, with what I'm use too.
The passion, feelings, and relationships involved with lesbians, is magical. I felt this book focused on only the basic stereotypes people have.
As I said, the book is half and half. Well written, but not for me.

I bought volume two when I saw that is contained the fabulous and heart rending story `Truck Stop Woman' by the always terrific author Lee Lynch. In volume one there is another story `New Year's Eve at the Bar" by the author that is simply delightful.

I also tremendously enjoyed `Spring Blossoms' and `Summer: an Ordinary Story' by Tee A. Corinne, who consistently delights.

As an added bonus there are excellent stories by authors I have previously read and enjoyed very much -
