I appreciated Mr. Cleary's format and the words reached out to me and helped me to connect again at a time when spiritual stagnation had set in. Mr. Cleary has an uncanny way of writing words that can easily become one's own in prayer.

This book has excellent resources for Centering prayer and personal meditation, as well as 25 thoughful and amusing prayers from various animals and insects "to lighten the heart" It can easily be used with a meditation group or alone. It has a helpful introduction and a table of contents which shows briefly what each of the 30 experiences is about. I highly recommend it for the person who wants to go beyond the traditional ways of being with God.
