5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, Funny, and Fully-detailed look at Skating, September 1, 1999
By A Customer
Best book on the subject that I have seen. Very funny, often irreverent, while at the same time giving full information and great hand-drawn pictures on how to accomplish all the moves of inline skating from beginner to intermediate and beyond. Very good sections on turning, braking, crashing, etc. and the author seems to know more synonymns for the expression "excrement" (said before every crash) than most of us have heard. I am an older skater and thought this book was just what the Doctor ordered for all who are attracted by the fun and fitness of skating. I think most out there who want to improve or are interested in blading will love this book. It will get you motivated and back on your wheels again!

4.0 out of 5 stars Must reading for the beginner., July 7, 1999
By Carlstout@aol.com (Arlington, Virginia) - See all my reviews
The author's writing style and cartoons took a few minutes to get used to. However, it is because of these techniques that Nealy has written a definitive work on being a beginner at in-line skating and what to expect. This is my 3rd book as I learn in my late 50's how to do this crazy sport. This book helps me remember this agony is supposed to be fun. I'm glad I found it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome book!, January 8, 2000
By Cindy Ryan (Florida) - See all my reviews
First, I was surprised by the fact that this book wasn't typed (handwritten look). However, I found this book immensely helpful, esp. the cartoons. It got me on my way to learning how to inline skate. The "how to fall" sections of the book gave me the confidence to take my skates to the pavement. I made it through my first day without falling! Thanks to this book, I am doing something I never thought I would be able to do, skate! Great job, William Nealy!
