From Library Journal
Randisi, founder of the Private Eye Writers of America, has brought together some of the top names in the PI genre to teach wannabe writers of detective novels some of their tricks and tips. Authors Sue Grafton, Lawrence Block, Catherine Dain, Ed Gorman, and others present chapters on topics such as using a writing journal, achieving structure, creating female PIs, and writing a PI series. Not a book on how to write, this focuses on the PI genre and does a wonderful job motivating and giving useful information for someone who wants to begin a novel or bring an old one out of the bottom drawer and make it publishable.
