More like an encylopedia than a dictionary, since each topic is the subject of a short essay. A great book to open a page and random, and see what you'll learn. Eight appendices suggest Mary-oriented Bible passages (not just direct biography, but also many Old Testament passages), and provide a chronology of Marian events in the history of the Catholic Church.

This is a beautifully put together book about the different roles Mary plays in our life. Not like a dictionary at all but short essays. There is also prayers in the book. If there is anything you wanted to know about Mary it is easily found in this book with scripture numbers so you can look it up in the bible. Those who treasure Mary will treasure this book.
