Student activities include learning centers, graphic organizers, literature binders, several kinds of journals, and are reproducible. A chapter on assessment includes tips for managing student portfolios. A final chapter lists the gifted reader’s Bill of Rights.
About the Author
Teresa Smith Masiello is a gifted and Talented Resource Specialist for the public school system in Frederick County, Virginia. She has done many workshops and teacher in-service training sessions on teaching reading to gifted children. She has taught for 19 years teaching at elementary and middle school levels. This includes Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. She has also spent several years teaching gifted students at the middle school level. Teaching at these different grade levels has deepened her beliefs about the importance of appropriately selected literature for all students
